Pathology Informatics Clinical Instructorship Program

The mission of this program is to provide 12 months subspecialty training in the diverse field of pathology informatics to highly motivated individuals who will become leaders in the field. This fellowship is flexible in the sense that it can be tailored to meet the needs and goals of the trainee; there are ample resources and faculty in the Department to support a wide range of activities including Computational Pathology (AI), Digital Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Education; the sky is the limit. Trainees also have access to collaboration with faculty in other Departments such as Biomedical Informatics and Computational & Systems Biology.

Disclaimer: This is currently a non-ACGME fellowship in Pathology Informatics. It is not a Clinical Informatics Fellowship and may not lead to board certification in Clinical Informatics.

Eligibility Requirements for UPMC Pathology Clinical Instructorships:

  • An MD degree or equivalent
  • Completion of approved ACGME residency training in pathology
  • A full, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
  • US citizenship or permanent residency
  • An ability to obtain staff privileges at UPMC
