The cytopathology fellowship at UPMC is a broad-based experience in exfoliative and aspiration cytopathology in a large academic tertiary care setting of the UPMC Health System. Ours is a nationally- competitive and highly-regarded cytopathology fellowship recognized by the quality of recruited fellows; individual research productivity during training; success in passing subspecialty board examination; and academic job placement upon completion of the program. The program stresses a multiparameter modern approach cytopathology combining standard cytomorphologic techniques with data obtained from ancillary immunohistology, in situ hybridization, flow cytometry, molecular and cytogenetic investigations.
